Descon Slipforms

Guided Slipform
With external jacking rods

It consists in a slipform system initially developed in Brasil, around the end of year 1988, for the construction of the Hydro Power Plants of CACHOEIRA DOURADA and SAMUEL, by the professionals who would later become the founders of DESCON CONSTRUTORA.

It is continuous launch of concrete process, in which the reinforcing steel rebars must be prepared and mounted before to the slip form.

The main difference with “traditional” slip form process (that uses internal jacking rod) is that the horizontal pressure applied by fresh concrete in the form is absorved by the external guides, which ensures a perfect and safe linearity of the formwork result.

The hydraulic jacks are fixed to the forms and as the jacks are triggered the whole assembly is lifted by the climbing of the jacks onto the 1” Ø external rods attached to the top of the vertical guides, on the outside of the concrete wall. The external guides can be straight or curved, meeting the needs of a large variety of structure shapes.
